Schools BACK from Summer!

Oh my. I haven't blogged on here or my family blog since the end of the school year. That about sums up my summer, go go go.

I wanted to share some of my favorite ideas and crafts I did for Back to School for my Preschoolers.

For Administration at the school, I thought little pick me up (Mocha Fraps!) in their favorite football team cups is a great way to start the first day of school.
Each of the kids 2 teachers got a back to school survival kit in a Thirty One carry all caddy!  Filled with Anti-bac soap, nail files, pencils, note pads, and a frap or green tea. Of course, I put in a cute questionnaire for each teacher. I love this idea. Thanks Pinterest & Life- Sweet - Life. It's so great to not have to guess on what to get your teachers and to know little things like a Dr. Pepper in the morning, etc.

Of course my kids were visited by the Back to School Fairy! They love this idea and they get a few little things to get them ready for school. Including new shoes! I loved the certificate on Happy Home Fairy.

We had a lot of fun taking different questionnaires and pictures for school.  Here are some of my favorites!

Here is the link to the Chalkboard questionnaire, it turned out super cute for pictures. Thank you Grant Ave.

I'm looking forward to getting back into the groove of school and back to blogging too. Here is my School Pinterest board for more of my favorite ideas.

A little bit of love... a little late!

I've been meaning to post pics of all the Valentine's we handed out this year at our many Vday events but I've switched modes right from Valentine's Day to getting ready for Trevor's birthday. Although we are just having a small family thing with a few close friends, I can't have a party without putting a ton of effort and creativity in it. It's not my style! ;)

Inside the bags that the kids handed out to their friends at school includes bubbles, blow pops and Hershey kisses, get it.. "Blowing kisses...". :) I thought all my little ideas came out cute this year! I can't imagine doing these things for a Kindergarten class of  24 kids so I'll enjoy it while the kids are in small class sizes.

Ready for the FIRST DAY OF SCHOOL!

I know most of you have already started school, and we start on Thursday and I am more than excited! Both my kids will be attending Preschool which also means that I have to do teacher gifts for 4 teachers this year, eekk. I'm definitely going to have to plan ahead and start early!

I wanted to do something little for each of my kid's teachers for the first day to put a smile on their face. I also think I'm going to need to suck up in order for Trevor's teachers to deal with him! He'll be climbing on the walls before the end of his first day!

I thought a FIRST DAY OF SCHOOL SURVIVAL KIT was what all their teachers needed!

What the card says :

FIRST DAY OF SCHOOL SURVIVAL KIT

Here’s a little something to help you through the first day of school. There is something to pick you up (caffeine!), keep you hydrated (water!), to keep you clean (hand sanitizer & kleenex!) and to indulge after the long day (candy & goodies!).
                                                            Have a GREAT DAY!!

We meet the teacher tomorrow! Wish us luck!

Summer is here! Wait, School is over??

Even though my 3 year old is only in 2 days of Mother's Day Out a week, I value those 10 hours a week and love having something new to help her learn and make new friends. Next week is the last week of school (eekk!), how I am going to entertain 2 kids all summer long?? I'm thankful for 3 long vacations so at least we won't have a ton of time to sit around staring at each other. The Mom in charge of Lily's year end party had the cute idea of buying buckets for each kid and each Mom bring something to put in the bucket for the kids to use this summer. I came up with 2 ideas (with a little Pinterest inspiration) that I thought turned out super cute and will add to the summer buckets of fun.

I used an envelope I cut out on the Cricut (5 1/2in worked perfectly) to go around individual Kool Aid packets and then tied them on silly straws. "Have a "KOOL" Summer!".

I also purchased inexpensive shovels from Target (with a large handle) and used paint pens to create a personalized shovel for each of the kids in the class.

No, I didn't forget the teachers! I think they need a fun summer gift too.... complete with a beach towel, flip flops and a few purse essentials like sun screen and lip balm. I'll attach a sweet card & a gift card too!

I am definitely looking forward to lots of time by the pool, at least the water tires the kids out! Happy Summer!

Christmas Favors!

I love that Lily is in preschool for at least a hundred reasons and one of them being that I get to be crafty & creative for a lot of special occasions, like Christmas! Today was Lily's Christmas party at school and she is so excited. They get a fancy Chick Fil-A feast and sing Christmas songs and have a book exchange, I'm excited that I get to take part in the festivities and get to see her celebrate with her friends.

First, I thought I'd show off my favor ideas for each little kid in her class. I thought they turned out really cute! Thanks to 2 Muses for the great idea on the Reindeer Dust!

Here is a picture of my chocolate dipped candy canes & the writing on the reindeer dust!

and now, here is my sweet girl at her first school Christmas party! She had a great time.

Preschool time is here!!

The hubby told me earlier "They are going to know Lily has a stay at home Mom", haa. When I read on the preschool information that the nap mat needs to be covered, and a king sized pillowcase works... I knew that my kid would not take a normal pillowcase to Mother's Day Out with her! ha. I bought some fabric to make a cover in pretty pinks for Lily, and later I'll get out the cricut to put her name on it too!

I have also been looking for a way to put Lily's name on all her sippy cups, as most of you know, they want EVERYTHING labeled. While browsing pinterest and etsy last night, I came across these cute personalized fabric bands for sippy cups, and super easy to make with velro. So, as Lily gets ready to start her 2 day a week endeavor, it is just another gateway for me to develop some new crafts. Love it!
